Sarasota, September 18, 2012 – In a very theatrical press conference this morning, The Players Theatre announced that they will be the new permanent home of Beneva Fruitville’s Drag Queen Bingo Bonanza (DQBB) on Friday nights in Sarasota.

The Golden Apple Dinner Theatre recently closed, leaving Ms. Beneva Fruitville and her sidekicks Lindsey Carlton and Tamiami Trails without a facility in which to perform on Friday nights.

Beginning on Friday, October 5, 2012 DQBB will be held on the main stage at The Players Theatre. DQBB patrons can expect the same great performances and Bingo games called by their favorite foul-mouthed hostess, Beneva Fruitville (played by Berry Ayers) and her cohorts Lindsay Carlton (played by Greyling Johnson) and Tamiami Trails (played by Eric Berkel). The cost will remain the same $5 cover charge. However, the show will expand to include themed theatrical elements and surprise guest appearances. Due to the adult language and explicit content of this show, it is not recommended for anyone under the age of 18. The theatre will be expanding its concession to include two fully stocked bars and a wider variety of specialty drinks. The theatre will continue to card its patrons before drinking.

The exciting new addition of DQBB to The Players calendar means a change to the season programming for the Broadway Series. The remaining six Broadway shows will not have any Friday performances, affecting a limited number of subscribers and independent ticket holders. Each of those patrons will be contacted directly by the theatre box office and offered a priority rescheduling of their tickets.

All patrons who previously booked group tickets through The Golden Apple Dinner Theatre for future DQBB shows will have their tickets honored at The Players Theatre. Groups are still encouraged to book ahead to ensure seating together. Patrons can purchase tickets online, over the phone, or in person the evening of the performance (subject to availability).
