Jeff and Hunter, two struggling writers, hear about a new musical theatre festival, however, the deadline for submissions is a mere three weeks away. [title of show] — taken from the space on the festival’s application form which asks for the “[title of show]” — follows friends on their journey through the gauntlet of creative self-expression. In the span of 90 minutes, they write and perform their show at the festival and learn lessons about themselves as people, friends and artists.

Falsettos

Nov. 3-6, 8-13 at 7:30pm

Nov. 7, 13-14 at 2pm
Hilarious, heartbreaking and utterly unique, Falsettos is a contemporary musical about family, relationships, bar mitvahs, baseball and AIDS. When Marvin leaves his wife Trina and son Jason to be with his lover Whizzer, tempers flare, problems escalate and everyone learns to grow up.

The Marvelous Wonderettes
Dec. 8-11, 14-18 at 7:30pm

Dec. 12, 18-19 at 2pm
This smash Off-Broadway hit takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom, where we meet Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy: four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! As we learn about their lives and loves, the girls serenade us with classic ‘50s hits including “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover,” “Stupid Cupid,” and “Lipstick on Your Collar.” In Act II, the Wonderettes reunite to take the stage and perform at their ten-year reunion. We learn about the highs and lows the girls have experienced in the past decade and are charmed to find that no matter what life throws their way, they will conquer it together!

Forbidden Broadway

Jan. 19-22, 25-29 at 7:30pm

Jan. 23, 29-30 at 2pm
In this long-running Off-Broadway hit musical revue, Broadway’s greatest musical legends meet Broadway’s greatest satirist in this hilarious, loving and endlessly entertaining tribute to some of the theatre’s greatest stars and songwriters.

Beehive: The 60’s Musical
Feb. 16-19, 22-26 at 7:30pm
Feb. 20, 26-27 at 2pm
Big voices with big hairdos! BEEHIVE celebrates the powerful female voices of the 1960’s with such timeless hits as “My Boyfriend’s Back,” “Be My Baby,” “Son of a Preacher Man” and “Me and Bobby McGee.” Told from the perspective of six young women who come of age in this enigmatic decade, BEEHIVE takes us from their first Beehive Dance to the challenges we faced as a nation.

Some Enchanted Evening
March 16-19, 22-26 at 7:30pm
March 20, 26-27 at 2pm
More than those of any composer or lyricist writing for the stage, the songs of Rodgers & Hammerstein have become an integral part of our everyday lives. This stunning collection of their compositions places five performers in a theatrical setting: first ‘backstage,’ where the songs are sung as personal interplay, and then ‘onstage,’ where the songs are presented to an audience. Offering its performers an opportunity to explore timeless songs within their own styles and sensibilities, Some Enchanted Evening delights its audience with a glorious parade of genuine hits!
